A Boatyard in Lancaster
Today we take a quick swing by the boatyard in Lancaster Virginia for a peek at a few of the many boats scattered about for repairs and refurbishments. I’ve seen boats here from as far away as Seattle Washington, which is one heck of a sail from the east coast.
This image was taken a very short distance from this launch ramp and this image at water’s edge, all a part of the Yankee Point Marina.

When I first saw this image I knew I wanted to convert it to B&W, so here it is below.

Processing took place in Lightroom 4 before exporting to Photoshop for a couple of final tweaks.
As always, thanks so much for visiting.

Color for me, without a doubt

Nice image, Jimi. Like the color version but the black and white is much more artsy. Great job.

I am partial to the black and white – the color seems to overtake the lines and shadows of the image! Very nice Jimi!

I like them both Jimi, though the BW adds a little more artsy feeling to it, nice work

Cool composition Jimi. I like the color one better – something about those yellow supports

The light and shadows in the B&W version make it my favorite. Nice work Jimi.

Perfect in black and white. The full scene opens up.

Have to vote for the color one this time, Jimi! The contrast of the blue and yellow is just too much to ignore.

They must have needed work done while in the area. Sailing that far, they must be on a world tour. Must be nice!
