Hello Friends, hope you had a great weekend!

I am so glad that Monday has arrived, which is something seldom heard from working folks. :-)   The fact of the matter is this, last week became so hectic and bizzare that I am simply happy to start another week and leave that one behind.

Since a new week has dawned I thought I would begin with this image of the wonderful and magic light often seen before the sun actually rises and become too harsh to photograph. Sometime we focus on getting that great shot of the sun so much, we forget about the light that’s available before ir rises or sets. I captured this shot around 5:30 am, a time that the world seems so at peace. By the way, I heard that the world was to end on May 21st so if you’re reading this, apparently the scheduling of the doomsdayers was off (again).

The image below is a simple 3-bracket set (-2, 0, and +2) which I ran through Photomatix, then pulled into CS5 for a slight vibrance adjustment. Initially I though I would have to mask in the homes since it was so dark but this actually needed minimal processing.

As always, your feedback is valued and welcome.

Stunning colors, love the haze peeking between the homes. Yes, we dodged the bullet, so to speak. But we have to mind the Mayan Calendar for 2012. Not gonna’ hold my breath. ;)

Spectacular colors in the sky. Really dig your processing on this one. The warm orange and the cool blue makes a great contrast in the shot.
