Mandalay Bay Waterfalls
Happy Friday, folks!
After a couple of weeks of traveling and living out of a suitcase, it’s nice to be back home. I’m looking forward to a quiet, wind-down sort of weekend.
While in Vegas I visited the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino where I stayed in October of 2010 for the Blogworld & New Media Expo. There is a lovely series of fountains and waterfalls there and last time out I ran short of time and was unable to get all of the shots I wanted. Arriving there just after sunrise, I gave the area a pretty good work out. Below are a couple of the many images captured.

The majority of the newer hotels and casinos in Las Vegas have really outstanding architectural features, and Mandalay Bay fits in with the best of them.

One of the ironies and disappointments in the image above is the fact that the elephants, like in the wild, have had their tusks removed. Each had at least one missing. Sort of symbolic of how they are treated in the real world.
The above images were processed via HDR Efex Pro before being imported into PS for a few final adjustments. The top image was taken late in the outing so it had quite a few spots to cleanup from water drops blowing around the environment.
I will be posting more of these in the future.
Until next time, have a great weekend!

Brilliant images Jimi. I love the first shot. Your composition and the juxtaposition of the building and the “natural” waterfall is perfect.

September is a great time to visit, the weather likely would have cooled a bit and the sun rises later. Enjoy the trip, I look forward to seeing some of what you capture while there.
