Run Aground
In today’s post we have a look at a repurposed boat, now resting in a decorative landscape scene complete with buoy. I nearly passed up this shot since it was such a gray, drab day but was encouraged by the colorful Crepe Myrtles, flowers and ornamental grass. I came upon this on Kent Island, the largest island on the Chesapeake Bay.
Having taken a look inside the boat, I can attest that it would sink faster than an anchor were it ever to be placed back into the water.
It’s and old wooden boat that likely has lots of memories attached.
Enjoy and thank for visiting!

The grey sky really helps put the focus on the front half of the shot where all the color is. Who knows, maybe a blue sky would have distracted from those colors. Glad you didn’t pass it up.

Good point, Max. In this case perhaps a beautiful sky may have been a bit much.

Great shot Jim. I think it was a good idea to add the vignette – Keeps the eye on the boat.

What a great idea for a landscape. Great image and processing Jimi.
I too thought it was a great idea. Instead of just ditching the old boat, keep it around for decorative purposes.

I was concerned about that drab sky initially but in this case it sort of works out. Got lucky!
