Sunset Harbor
Quick post today as Hurricane Sandy blows through the region. The rain began yesterday but the worst remains ahead. We’re well prepared, just a matter of riding it out now.
Today I thought I would post an image with a colorful, sunset sky, as I look forward to seeing the next one, which is days away. This image was taken on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay back in the summer during a trip to Maryland’s Eastern Shore. I remember the intense heat of that day but also remember the fun of traveling on the open sea. As we approached the docks off of Taylor’s Creek the sun was setting and the sky was transitioning toward the stormy night ahead.
Thanks so much for visiting!

Really nice colors in the sky here Jimi. I bet all those boats are out of the water by now in anticipation of the storm.

Nice one, Jimi. Colors and lighting are very appealing. We’re still getting the peripheral effects of the storm here in eastern NC. No shooting today.

Nice composition and absolutely fantastic light, Jimi! Keep safe during the storm – you are going to be a lot nearer the eye than I am.

The eye of the storm was very near to us, maybe even passed over as there was a period of calm for a few hours. The rain never slacked off though. Alls well in the aftermath. Thanks, man.

Beautiful scene. Hope you weathered the storm well. Things in NYC are slowly getting back to normal, but it will be a long road ahead.
